History of Monte Ridge

Originally part of a mile square section- 160 acres, Monte Ridge is the last vacant land of its size in the immediate Castle Rock area.  Settled by a well-known local family in the early 1900's.  They thrived on cattle farming and wheat cultivation and raised a bustling family.   Over the years a parcel was sold to an eastern equestrian enthusiast and adventurer known for her unique houses adorned with Asian art, a gift from her trader father. It remains unspoiled.  Other than cattle and wildlife, most of the acreage has never known a footstep or tire track, making it pristine acreage in Douglas County.

A true ranching legacy.  The land has had few ownership changes, enduring the longest under its current steward of nearly three decades. In the 2000s, Castle Rock Town carved out 10 acres to pave the Plum Creek Parkway, leading to the christening of this divided parcel as Monte Ridge. Today, besides the occasional cattle and native wildlife, the land remains largely untouched, standing as one of Colorado's unspoiled gems.

Monte Ridge's open acreage offers commanding views, beautiful flora, native animal species, privacy for you to enjoy its Colorado character in perpetuity.
